Built in the 1940s, in an Art Deco style, the Villa Logis d’Azur is located opposite the port of La Napoule. Transformed into a cultural space, since 2020, it presents works from the SAFA Collection to the general public. It hosts a permanent collection all year round and organizes thematic exhibitions each summer that highlight major works.
” MIMOSA CARNIVAL” EXHIBITION
In February 2023, Clara Martinez Thedy slipped into the heart of the Mimosa Festival, which has been bringing life to the streets of Mandelieu-La Napoule for almost a century. She brought back 46 shots that are perfectly representative of her style and favourite themes.
Like a reporter, she was able to capture the hustle and bustle that surrounds the mimosa as February approaches. She shows us the century-old work of the mimosa growers, from cutting to forcing, to selling the golden local products. She takes us on a tour of the Esterel mountains, discovering the golden forests contrasting with the blue sky of the Côte d’Azur. Finally, she shares with us the Pallégresse of the Carnival, and the floral displays whose yellow pompons have been brightening up Côte d’Azur winters since 1931.
Joy, exuberance and delight are the hallmarks of this colourful exhibition.
